PUNE:
The city-based Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI), which has remained closed after BKS Iyengar passed away on August 20, will reopen on September 3. Yoga guru Iyengar's legacy will continue through his daughter Geeta and son Prashant, said Iyengar's grand daughter Abhijata while speaking at a condolence meet organized in the city on Saturday.

Iyengar passed away in a city hospital at the age of 95. "It was a family decision to take Guruji to the hospital. Though he did not want to be admitted, we felt medical science could help him. Before he was hospitalized, he would practice yoga every day," Abhijata said.

Pandits from Vellore recited the 108 names of sage Patanjali during the condolence meet, which was attended by hundreds of people from varied nationalities and culture.
